Malaysian singers Syamel and Ernie Zakri are best known for their searing duet Aku Cinta. Who would've thought that their on-stage chemistry would spill over off-stage too?

Back in 2016, Syamel, 27, and Ernie, 28, first got to know each other when they were paired together to compete against other duet teams in the reality singing series, Duo Star.

It seems they ended up walking away from the competition with a whole lot more than just the grand prize.

On the morning of March 26, the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Masjid Puncak Alam, Selangor.

"We're feeling relieved because there were so many challenges we had to face to make this happen during the conditional MCO. We had to make sure we complied to the SOPs every step of the way," Ernie told Berita Harian after the nikah ceremony.

"We're sad that we couldn't have all our family members and relatives present but we're happy that we've finally become husband and wife."

Congratulations to the happy couple!
