It seems country superstar Dolly Parton works way beyond 9 to 5.
The 9 to 5 hitmaker reveals her day actually begins at 3am on most days.
"I’m always, almost always up for good around 3am," she lets us in on her daily routine in a Marie Claire article.
"So I do some of my best spiritual work, some of my best writing, and some of my business work – call-ins and letters that I’m writing or whatever – between 3am and 7am. I get more work done during that little period of time when the world is calm, energies are down."
"They say the early bird gets the worm. Well, they also get a lot of good ideas too."
On top of that, Parton – who recently released a Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, and starred in a holiday film, Dolly Parton's Christmas on The Square – says she's able to function on just five hours of sleep at most.
"I don’t require a lot of sleep. Three to five hours I can work on. Five hours I like to get. But usually I’m between three and five. But usually, if I’m on the job, I’ll take a little power nap."
Another important routine for Parton is making sure her hair and make-up is on point at all times, even if she doesn't leave the house.
"I have to always stay ready—street ready, I always say. I have to keep my make-up on and keep my hair done... I have to be ambulance-ready at all times, if I get sick or something."
Parton recently made headlines when it was revealed she helped fund Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine, which was proven to be almost 95% effective.
