South Korean actor Gong Yoo isn't on social media, which is why any photo of the Goblin actor in an informal setting – especially one revealing his muscular physique – immediately sparks interest.
Fitness trainer Yoon Tae Sik was sharing about his client Gong Yoo's workout routine in an Aug 2 video interview with Allure Korea.
A shot of the popular actor baring his chest and abs in a gym was included in the video, drawing the attention of his fans.
Yoon proceeded to dish out the 41-year-old's highly-disciplined fitness lifestyle:
"When he isn't shooting, he comes to the gym almost every day. If he has to build his body up to shoot something, he comes in twice a day."
"(Each time) he comes to the gym, he warms up for 10-15 minutes, works out with me for an hour and then does cardio for another hour. He spends about 2.5 to three hours in total."
Gong Yoo also follows a strict diet. He cooks his meals on his own and sends a photo of what he eats to Yoon.
"He doesn't like using a lot of condiments so he mostly grills or steams his food."
Yoon added Gong Yoo once called him to ask if he could have a bit of beer while on a strict diet.
"He did drink the beer but I heard he didn't finish it all at once, sipping 500ml of beer very slowly instead, so he wouldn't run out of it so quickly."
Yoon also works with another popular K-drama actor Hyun Bin. In a separate interview with Allure Korea, he revealed the Crash Landing On You actor "loves to eat."
"It's not like he will not eat pizzas or hamburgers. He will eat moderately. He controls the quantity of the food."
"If he has to prepare his body for filming, he will hold back his desire to eat delicious food."
