Pivoting away from his highly successful action and military film genres, Malaysian director Adrian Teh decided to try his hand at a light-hearted romantic comedy titled Pasal Kau.

The cast of Pasal Kau comprises actors from Teh's previous action blockbusters Paskal: The Movie and Wira such as Hairul Azreen, Namron, Amerul Affendi, Henley Hii, Hafizul Kamal, Taufiq Hanafi, Theebaan G and Josiah Hogan.

The story revolves around co-workers at a luxury hotel – Jane (Janna Nick) who has a crush on happy-go-lucky Aiman (Hairul Azreen). However, he is oblivious to it and only realises his feelings for Jane after almost losing her in a kidnapping incident.

Teh, who also serves as executive producer, said in a press release: “Malay rom-com is a new challenge to me. However, working with cast members that I am familiar with from my previous works has given me an advantage to crack this genre.

Pasal Kau was filmed entirely at Desaru Coast, Johor, and we managed to complete the shoot 48 hours before the Malaysian government implemented the movement control order. The film is currently at the post-production stage and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”
