With the movement control order (MCO) still in effect, Malaysians are coming up with creative ways not only to navigate through everyday routines but to celebrate important milestones.

Case in point: singer Ayda Jebat and TV presenter Nabil Mahir held their engagement ceremony online!

"Proposal on my birthday, Engagement on your birthday, I know we can make it till the end of our days, Officially, My Fiancé," Ayda announced the happy news with a poem on Instagram.

Previously, Nabil proposed to Ayda when she celebrated her 28th birthday on March 17. It was also a double celebration for Nabil on April 28, coinciding the engagement with his 32nd birthday.

"Walaupun online, tetap mesra dan bahagia (Although it was held online, it was still a warm, happy occasion)," she ended the post.

A closer look at Ayda's Instagram Stories reveal the couple and their respective family members dressed to the nines to usher in the occasion via video call.

Nabil also posted the news on his Instagram account, adding the photo which has them sitting side by side during the engagement ceremony was actually edited to look that way, making sure social distancing rules were observed.

Congratulations to the couple!
