Malaysian producers say Oscar nomination was “very unexpected”

'St. Louis Superman', directed by Teng Poh Si and Cheyenne Tan, received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Short Subject.

In the early hours of Jan 13 morning, United States-based Malaysian producers Cheyenne Tan and Teng Poh Si were having a sleepless night.

In just a few hours, this year’s Oscar nominees were going to be announced and short documentary St. Louis Superman, produced by Teng and Tan, was in the running.
