Taib says traditonal festive flavours are significantly incorporated in the menus.

AS the Yuletide spirit blankets the city, diners can embark on a culinary sleigh ride through an impressive spread of traditional holiday and local favourites curated for the season.

Element Kuala Lumpur is set to enchant diners with Christmas buffets promising festive cheer up until the New Year.

Dining at the hotel’s Trace Restaurant and Bar, located on the 40th floor and being surrounded by the city skyline, will surely set the mood for a joyous occasion.

Head over to the carving stations where Element’s festive lunch and dinner buffets feature Christmas Roast Whole Chicken with Orange and Cranberries, Baked Butterfish Wellington and Greek Style Mint Crusted Roasted Lamb Leg.

The Greek Style Mint Crusted Roasted Lamb Leg is a showstopper, with its herby, minty crust forming a perfect harmony with the tender meat offering a taste of the Mediterranean in every bite.

The feast for your eyes is the wrapped in puff pastry Baked Butterfish Wellington, which is bound to grab your attention at the carving station.

Open up its pastry exterior and the Wellington exposes a moist interior of sweet fish that is both luxurious and comforting.

Element Kuala Lumpur executive chef Taib Ridhwan said the buffets were created to suit all taste preferences, with traditional festive flavours significantly incorporated into the menus.

The festive lunch and dinner buffets will suit those who wish to pre-celebrate the holidays, while those who wish to celebrate on the most wondrous days can opt for the holiday brunch and dinner options.

For the holiday brunch and dinner buffets, this year’s festive offerings beckon strongly with Slow-roasted Wagyu Striploin Beef exuding rich aromas and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness, alongside roast turkey with orange and cranberries.

Cuts of tender and juicy turkey can be had with a selection of homemade stuffings and choices of wild cranberry sauce for a tart twist or smoked barbecue sauce for a touch of piquant smokiness.

If there is a second helping of turkey, enjoy it with the refreshing and tangy citrus emulsion sauce before moving on to the next dish.

Regardless of which dining dates are chosen, seafood enthusiasts will revel in the seafood-on-ice section featuring freshly shucked oysters, succulent prawns and crabs as well as shellfish.

For those with Malaysian flavours in mind, there is a selection of popular local dishes and an action station ready to serve Chinese-style noodles including prawn mee and char kuey teow throughout the month.

It must be said that choices of vegetables are far from an afterthought, with a colourful array of healthy roasted root vegetables, chargrilled asparagus, and Brussels sprouts as well as an organic salad bar.

Further elevating the festive offerings are its desserts, a kaleidoscope of colour and sweetness, featuring a Christmas-themed macaron tower and an array of miniature delights, including festive chocolate log cakes as well as gingerbread confectionery to entice both the young and young at heart.
