For Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), supporting The Star’s ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025 is more than a sponsorship.
Chief corporate officer Nor Fadhilah Mohd Ali (pic) said it reflects TM’s belief that meaningful progress is achieved when organisations come together to drive positive change.
“The awards recognise businesses that are turning sustainability commitments into tangible action, which closely aligns with how TM advances sustainability across Prosperity, Planet and People,” she said.
She elaborated that TM put these principles into practice through the PWR 2030 strategic roadmap, progressing towards net zero by 2050, and empowering communities through initiatives such as Jangkau Digital TM and TM Future Skills.
“By supporting the awards, we aim to celebrate like-minded organisations leading by example, encourage the sharing of good practices and inspire more businesses to advance sustainability – collectively driving a more progressive Malaysia towards a more inclusive future,” she said.
Commenting on the finalists and winners, Nor Fadhilah said she was impressed by the breadth and substance of their initiatives.
These strong entries shared a defining quality: they translated ambition into clear action and measurable outcomes across the sustainability pillars, she added.
“It was inspiring to see sustainability embedded in how organisations innovate, manage resources, support people and strengthen resilience, not treated as a standalone programme.
“I was particularly encouraged by solutions grounded in local realities, yet with the potential to be scaled or replicated for broader impact.”
Platforms like the ESG Positive Impact Awards play an important role in turning sustainability commitments into real action, Nor Fadhilah added.
In addition to highlighting successful initiatives and showing how sustainability can make a meaningful difference, they strengthen accountability by requiring organisations to provide clear evidence or their results, rather than relying on broad claims, she said.
“By sharing these examples, the awards give others practical ideas to learn from and encourage organisations to be more open about their progress.
“Over time, this can raise sustainability standards across industries and build greater trust among stakeholders.”
