Ready for nuke and rare earth projects?

WHAT would be the result of a national referendum on whether Malaysia should embark on nuclear power plants and/or the mining and processing of rare earth minerals? I think the nays would have it.

Aside from the general fear of the unknown or the widely publicised nuclear and rare earth mining disasters of the past, there’s also the Nimby or not in my backyard issue, that remains the backdrop of the protest movement against these types of projects, globally. Both nuclear power plants and rare earth mining and processing create hazardous residue that needs to be dealt with in a proper way using the latest and sometimes very expensive technological solutions.
