Watta eyes electronics distribution

PETALING JAYA: Watta Holding Bhd is proposing to diversify its business to include the distribution of consumer electronics and its related products.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said that it is currently principally involved in the servicing of telecommunication equipment and related products, as well as the rental of industrial buildings.

“In recent years, the services segment has faced structural challenges arising from evolving industry dynamics, particularly improvements in smartphone quality and device durability, which have gradually reduced the frequency of repair requirements compared to earlier generations of smartphones.

“In addition, the mobile device repair market has become increasingly competitive due to the growing presence of independent repair service providers and third party service centres.”
