PETALING JAYA: SKA Capital Bhd is poised to benefit from rising investment in Malaysia’s power infrastructure as it expands its capabilities to undertake larger projects, according to MBSB Research.
Renewable energy (RE), such as solar and hydropower, are among the sources being integrated into Malaysia’s electricity grid.
“We see SKA Capital as an emerging beneficiary of Malaysia’s accelerating power infrastructure investment cycle, underpinned by rising electricity demand, the rapid expansion of data centres, industrial electrification and the integration of RE into the national grid.”
To capture these opportunities, SKA Capital has expanded from civil and structural (C&S) to engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC).
Previously, SKA Capital had mainly undertook C&S works for high-voltage substations as a subcontractor, including foundations, control buildings and switchyards.
While this built its track record, its scope limited the share of the overall contract value it could capture.
