Nestle 3Q26 profit jumps 73% on higher sales

PETALING JAYA: Nestle (M) Bhd will focus on staying closely attuned to evolving consumer needs, sharpening execution across channels, and widening its brands’ reach across consumption occasions, after another positive third quarter.

In addition, the company declared a second interim dividend of 80 sen per share – amounting to RM187.6mil – for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (FY26), which will be paid on Dec 9, 2026.

In the third quarter ended Sep 30, 2026 (3Q26), the company recorded a revenue of RM1.86bil, up 5.3% from 3Q25’s RM1.76bil.

Nestle said the rise was driven by resilient domestic demand in key product categories, backed by continued innovation and effective commercial execution, as well as consistent demand for its halal made-in-Malaysia products across export markets.

Net profit also saw a 73.2% jump to RM197.51mil in 3Q26 from RM114.04mil a year earlier, an improvement attributed to higher sales, some softening in commodity costs, and ongoing efforts in operational efficiencies and digitalisation initiatives.

Based on its quarterly financial report, the company’s 3Q25 profit base was lower partly due to a RM22.87mil impairment loss on property, plant and equipment.

On a cumulative basis, the first nine months of FY26 saw revenue of RM5.55bil, a year-on-year increase of 6.7% from last year’s RM5.2bil, while reported year-to-date net profit stood at RM557.64mil, up by 43.9% from RM387.5mil the previous year.

Chief executive officer of Nestle Malaysia Juan Aranols reaffirmed a solid outlook for the full FY26, adding that the company moves into the fourth quarter with “a high comparative base against a very strong period in 2025”.

“While the operating environment remains dynamic, investments in digitalisation, automation and productivity will help us operate more efficiently and respond with greater speed and agility,” he said.

“With our local manufacturing capabilities, broad distribution network and our committed teams, these efforts will further reinforce our competitiveness and position us for sustainable growth over the long term.”

Nestle elaborated that it continues to invest in core brands during 3Q26 through innovation, brand-building and marketplace execution to cement its relevance to consumers across various consumption occasions.

Aranols said the company’s performance for the first nine months this year reflects the resilience of demand for its brands and the disciplined, high-quality work of its teams.

“With our deeply rooted manufacturing footprint and 100% halal-certified products that are made in Malaysia, by Malaysians, for Malaysians, we are deeply connected to the consumers and communities we serve.

“This solid foundation is central to how we grow our business and create value over the long term.”

He added that as consumers continue to be discerning, the company will continue its focus on delivering quality, nutrition, convenience and value, supported by innovation and sustained investment in its brands and operations.
