RedPlanet’s expansion into CTS to bolster growth

PETALING JAYA: RedPlanet Bhd’s expansion into Central Transmissions Systems (CTS) and potential opportunities from new rail projects are expected to support growth in its intelligent rail solutions business, according to Rakuten Trade Research.

CTS connects railway signalling, communications and operational systems, broadening the group’s offerings beyond its proprietary Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIES) safety system.

RedPlanet secured two CTS contracts worth a combined RM32.5mil in 2026, comprising a RM21.6mil contract for deployment at the Ampang light rail transit (LRT) line and a RM10.9mil contract to upgrade the existing system at the Kelana Jaya LRT line. RedPlanet will be transferred to the ACE Market from the LEAP Market today.

Looking ahead, Rakuten Trade Research said the Penang LRT Mutiara Line and Johor’s proposed autonomous rapid transit system could offer potential contracts for RedPlanet’s PIES and CTS solutions.
