PETALING JAYA: Dassault Systèmes has opened its renovated Malaysia office in Bandar Utama, Selangor, to support the adoption of industrial artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual twin technology among local manufacturers.

The 51,000 sq ft office spans two floors and has a capacity of 440 employees, reflecting the French software company's growth in Malaysia over the past 20 years from an initial team of five.

In a statement, Dassault Systèmes said the facility would serve as a regional and global technology and delivery centre, supporting customers across various industries.

The office houses the DELMIA Hub, which develops and supports advanced planning and scheduling solutions for customers worldwide, alongside regional shared services teams in finance and digital marketing.

It will also support Malaysian manufacturers, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in adopting industrial AI and virtual twin technologies across sectors such as electrical and electronics, automotive and aviation.

The technologies allow manufacturers to design, simulate and test products digitally before production, helping to reduce prototyping costs, minimise waste and improve operational efficiency.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, who inaugurated the office alongside French Ambassador to Malaysia Marc Abensour, said industrial AI and virtual twin technologies were critical to Malaysia's ambition of becoming a regional AI hub.

"Dassault Systèmes' expanded presence in Malaysia will play a vital role in enabling local industries, especially our SMEs, to adopt cutting-edge digital solutions, innovate faster and compete on a global scale," he said.

Dassault Systèmes executive vice-president for Asia Pacific Samson Khaou said Malaysia had significant opportunities to move up the manufacturing value chain through industrial AI.

"By combining virtual twin technology with the knowledge and know-how of engineers and industry experts, manufacturers can turn their expertise into practical outcomes, improving product quality, operational efficiency and sustainability," he said.
