PETALING JAYA: NCT Alliance Bhd
's wholly-owned subsidiary NCT World Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) with Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) to develop a robotics manufacturing ecosystem in Selangor.
Under the collaboration, NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) in South Selangor will serve as one of the bases for the initiative, providing factory facilities for robotics and automation manufacturers seeking to establish operations in the state.
NCT will act as an industrial infrastructure partner, offering manufacturers flexible factory occupancy arrangements, including outright purchases, rent-before-purchase options and leasing.
Sidec will facilitate the introduction of local and foreign robotics manufacturers and investors to NCT's industrial developments.
The collaboration will also support robotics assembly, manufacturing and product showcases at NSIP, complementing Sidec's existing semiconductor ecosystem in Puchong and Cyberjaya.
NCT Alliance executive chairman and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the collaboration would provide manufacturers with the infrastructure and flexibility needed to establish and expand their operations in Selangor.
“Through this collaboration with Sidec, we aim to provide manufacturers with the infrastructure, flexibility and environment needed to establish and scale their operations in Selangor.
"Beyond providing industrial space, NSIP is designed to support an ecosystem where technology companies, manufacturers and investors can establish operations, showcase their capabilities and expand efficiently from Selangor," he said in a statement.
The two parties also plan to organise a Malaysia-China Robotics Day in January 2027, involving 15 robotics and automation companies, comprising 10 from China and five from Malaysia.
Following the event, NCT and Sidec intend to establish a permanent robotics exhibition hub at NSIP.
Meanwhile, China-based electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft developer TCab Tech's Malaysian unit is expected to display its five-seat E20 aircraft at NSIP by November 2026.
TCab Tech and local robotics manufacturer DF Automation & Robotics Sdn Bhd are also in discussions to establish operations at the industrial park.
Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said the collaboration was aimed at attracting local and international robotics and automation companies to Selangor.
“NSIP is well suited for this, with complete infrastructure, strong exposure and a strategic location, as well as ready-built factories that allow players to come in and start operations right away.
“With NSIP serving as one of the bases of this ecosystem, we see strong potential to attract both local and international companies looking for a strategic entry point into Malaysia, while creating more opportunities for technology collaboration, investment and industry development,” he said.
Separately, NCT said it was participating as a limited partner in the RM100mil Ehsan Semiconductor Fund, co-founded by Sidec, which invests in semiconductor technologies and related industries, including robotics and autonomous systems.
The fund targets full deployment over the next five years.
