Hextar Capital unit secures RM60mil subcontract

KUALA LUMPUR: Hextar Capital Bhd’s subsidiary, Legacy Core Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM60mil subcontract for the upgrading of Jalan Oya (Phase 2) in Sibu, Sarawak from Doland (M) Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Hextar Capital said the project, owned by the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR Sarawak), involves road works, drainage and services relocation.

The contract will run from Oct 2, 2026 to Feb 11, 2029. Hextar Capital said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 and throughout the duration of the project.

Managing director Johnson Chang said that the award further reinforces Legacy Core’s growing presence in the construction industry and aligns with Hextar Capital’s strategy of enhancing its order book and generating sustainable returns for shareholders. “Leveraging our experience and expertise, we are confident of delivering the project efficiently while meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with Doland and other project stakeholders whilst enhancing our presence in the industry.”
