Hengyuan names Ranta as chief executive

PETALING JAYA: Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd has appointed Erkki Tapio Ranta as chief executive officer (CEO), effective Oct 1, following the end of Luke Yin Lujiang’s contract.

In separate filings with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Yin, 55, ceased all his duties and responsibilities with the company effective Oct 1.

Ranta, 62, previously served as Hengyuan Refining’s CEO from March 2020 to July 2021.

The Finnish national has more than three decades of experience in the refining and oil industry.

Ranta began his career as a plant design engineer with Air-Ix Oy in Finland in 1990 before joining Neste Oil Oyj in 1991, where he held various positions over more than two decades.
