Seni Jaya says share buyback announcement on Sept 29 made in error

PETALING JAYA: Seni Jaya Corporation Bhd (SJC) has clarified that it did not buy back any shares on Sept 29, saying an announcement made that day was submitted in error.

The company said the Sept 29 filing duplicated its Sept 25 share buyback announcement and should be disregarded.

“No share buy-back transaction was undertaken by the company on 29 September 2026,” SJC said in a Bursa Malaysia filing today.

It added that the purchase disclosed on Sept 25, involving 1.75 million ordinary shares at 48.5 sen each, remained unchanged.

“The cumulative number of treasury shares held by the Company remains at 3,250,000 ordinary shares,” it said.

That represents about 0.78% of SJC’s total issued shares as at Sept 29, according to the filing.
