LB Aluminium to closely monitor aluminium prices, exchange rates

PETALING JAYA: LB Aluminium Bhd will continue to monitor aluminium prices and exchange rates closely.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the aluminium and property development company said it will adjust selling prices as needed to protect margins.

“We are also closely monitoring our operational costs to maintain resilience and competitiveness in a rapidly changing market.

“For the aluminium segment, global aluminium price fluctuations have increased the cost of aluminium billets, our main raw material. Meanwhile, a stronger ringgit against the dollar has partially offset the higher costs, as our billet purchases are priced in dollars.

For its first quarter ended July 31, 2026, LB Aluminium’s net profit rose to RM18.57mil from RM11.60mil in the previous corresponding period, mainly due to higher contributions from both the aluminium and property segments.

Revenue during the quarter grew to RM318.8mil from RM270.43mil previously.
