Marine & General posts lower 1Q earnings

PETALING JAYA: Marine & General Bhd has posted a lower profit of RM6.52mil for the first quarter ended July 31, 2026 versus RM16.62mil in the same quarter last year.

Its revenue for the quarter under review was also 74% lower at RM75.59mil compared to the RM99.43mil posted last year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the marine logistics provider said the decrease was due to lower vessel availability in the upstream division, as several vessels were undergoing mandatory docking and repairs and moderating drilling activities domestically.

Due to this, vessel utilisation decreased from 82% to 75% in the quarter.

However, the downstream division performed steadily.

The group did not declare any dividend for the quarter.

It added that it will maintain a neutral outlook for the rest of its financial year, while making operational decisions based on market developments and economic conditions.

“We will continue to focus on operational efficiency and fleet optimisation to maintain resilience and stable earnings performance.”
