KUALA LUMPUR: BYD Sime Motors has launched BYD Certified, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker's official certified pre-owned vehicle programme, marking the establishment of the first BYD Certified outlet in the Asia Pacific region.
BYD Certified is a programme that raises the standard for pre-owned EV ownership in Malaysia, where every vehicle is professionally inspected, backed by verified battery health assessments, warranty coverage, financing solutions, and aftersales support.
BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the programme represents an important step in making EV ownership more accessible to Malaysians amid growing interest for quality pre-owned EVs backed by assurance and professional support as the market continues to mature.
"Through BYD Certified, we are extending the BYD ownership experience to a wider audience, while reinforcing our commitment to supporting customers throughout their entire EV journey, beyond just the vehicle itself," he said in a joint statement.
Meanwhile, BYD Sime Motors managing director Adeline Lew said BYD Certified is built on rigorous quality standards and transparent vehicle verification.
"Every certified pre-owned BYD undergoes a comprehensive inspection by trained technicians and is supported by verified vehicle history records, battery health assessments and warranty coverage," she said.
BYD Sime Motors added that the programme is built on five quality assurance pillars, including a 170-point inspection, mileage and vehicle age limits, certified clean vehicle history, and the use of genuine BYD parts for refurbishment.
Customers also enjoy a five-day buy-back assurance, nationwide authorised sales, service and spare parts (3S) dealer support and a dedicated trade-in platform for existing BYD owners.
Customers can visit the BYD Certified outlet at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie, where selected certified pre-owned BYD models are available. It also offers a one-stop experience encompassing vehicle purchases, certification verification, trade-in services, financing solutions, warranty support and aftersales care.
