Solar District Cooling secures RM18.5mil rail transit BMS upgrade contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Solar District Cooling Group Bhd (SDCG) has secured an RM18.5mil contract to upgrade the building management systems (BMS) at selected rail transit stations and their ancillary buildings.

In a statement, SDCG said its wholly owned subsidiary, Solar District Cooling Sdn Bhd, had accepted a letter of award for the project, which will run over 24 months from July 15, 2026, to July 15, 2028.

The project involves upgrading and modernising the existing BMS infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, monitoring capabilities and overall system performance across rail transit facilities.

The latest contract raises the group's outstanding order book to approximately RM54.52mil, comprising RM36.02mil as at June 30, 2026, and the newly secured RM18.5mil project.

Managing director Edison Kong said the award strengthens the group's presence in the transportation infrastructure segment and reflects its technical capabilities in delivering BMS solutions for mission-critical environments.

“This project not only expands our order book but also reinforces our position in supporting energy-efficient and well-integrated building systems across large-scale infrastructure.

“As we continue to build on our expertise in BMS and energy solutions, we remain focused on delivering sustainable value while capturing opportunities in both public and private sectors,” he added.

SDCG expects the project to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 and onwards until its completion.
