Fibromat bags RM140mil road construction job

PETALING JAYA: Fibromat (M) Bhd has secured a sub-contract from Hexatrend Sdn Bhd in relation to road construction works for “Jalan Akses Ke Limpaku Pinang, Bahagian Limbang, Sarawak,” worth RM140mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the integrated geotechnical engineering solutions provider said the scope of works includes the construction of approximately 13.9 kilometres of new roadway, a service road, three bridges complete with solar-powered street lighting, drainage infrastructure, geotechnical engineering works, road furniture installation, utility relocation and environmental protection works.

“The contract is also expected to enhance the group’s outstanding order book and improve earning visibility over the duration of the contract.

“The board is of the view that the group is well-positioned to capture the growing demand in East Malaysia arising from the contract.”

Fibromat said the successful execution of the contract is expected to further reinforce the group’s track record and capabilities in the engineering and infrastructure sectors.

In a separate statement, managing director and chief executive officer Danny Ng Kian Boon said the award reflected clients' continued confidence in Fibromat's engineering expertise, execution capabilities and commitment to delivering quality infrastructure solutions.
