Berjaya pares holdings in Berjaya Assets

PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Corp Bhd's (BCorp) wholly-owned subsidiaries, Ambilan Imej Sdn Bhd (AISB) and Berjaya IPS Credits Sdn Bhd (BIPS Credits), have sold 48.5 million shares in Berjaya Assets Bhd (BAssets) on July 9, 2026.

The disposal represented about 1.9% equity interest and generated total cash proceeds of RM14.55mil at 30 sen per share.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, BCorp noted it retains 308.55 million shares, equivalent to 12.06% equity in BAssets.

The disposal price was based on prevailing market values, and the shares were sold free of encumbrances.

Proceeds will be used to repay borrowings and fund working capital, including administrative and operating costs.

The carrying value of the shares in BCorp’s books was 73 sen per share, reflecting a disposal below book value.
