Tew Peng Hwee is Axis-REIT’s new chairman


PETALING JAYA: Axis Real Estate Investment Trust’s (Axis-REIT) deputy chairman Tew Peng Hwee @ Teoh Peng Hwee has been redesignated to the position of chairman.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Axis-REIT said the redesignation of Tew, 65, is due to the resignation of chairman Datuk Abas Carl Gunnar Abdullah, 67, who has stepped down due to medical reasons.

Additionally, Axis-REIT announced that its alternate director, Takim Khan Myhre, 26, has vacated his position due to the “resignation of a principal director,” namely Abas Carl.

According to Axis-REIT’s annual report, Tew began his career as a real estate agent in 1982, and over the years, built his practice as a specialist in office and industrial property segments.
