THMY breaks ground on new factory, HQ in Penang

BATU KAWAN: THMY Holdings Bhd, a provider of automated testing solutions for the E&E industry, today broke ground on its new factory and corporate headquarters at Batu Kawan Industrial Park, Penang.

In a statement, it said that following the commencement of construction works, this new factory is targeted to be completed by the second quarter of 2028, and this reinforces the group's commitment to expanding its production capabilities and supporting its long-term growth strategy

Designed to support THMY's next phase of expansion, the purpose-built factory will significantly enhance its manufacturing and engineering capabilities as well as overall operational efficiency.

"The new factory will initially accommodate 20 advanced automated test solution workstations, enabling THMY to support higher production volumes and meet customers' increasingly sophisticated testing requirements.

"The expansion is expected to strengthen the group's ability to capitalise on the growing demand for automated test solutions, particularly across data centre, artificial intelligence and cloud computing applications, while reinforcing its position within the regional E&E manufacturing ecosystem," it said.

The new factory will provide additional production floor space for the group, significantly increasing THMY’s manufacturing capacity and engineering capabilities to scale its operations and undertake larger, more complex projects.

THMY executive director/chief executive officer Ooi Can Nix said this investment positions THMY to capture growing opportunities while laying a strong foundation for the next phase of sustainable growth. - Bernama
