KUALA LUMPUR: Paris Baguette Malaysia has come under the direct ownership of Paris Baguette's Southeast Asia regional headquarters in Singapore following the completion of Berjaya Food Bhd's (BFood) exit from the joint venture.
The announcement comes a day after BFood said it had disposed of its entire 50% equity interest in Berjaya Paris Baguette Sdn Bhd (BPB) to Paris Baguette Singapore Pte Ltd for a nominal cash consideration of RM1, completing its exit from the loss-making bakery business in Malaysia.
In a statement today, Paris Baguette said the new ownership structure places its Malaysian operations under the direct stewardship of its Southeast Asia Regional Headquarters, giving the business access to shared resources across brand strategy, product development, supply chain and operational management.

The company said the move aligns Malaysia more closely with its wider Southeast Asia growth strategy and is supported by its fully halal-certified production hub in Johor, which will strengthen supply chain resilience, product consistency and operational scalability.
As part of the integration, Paris Baguette said it will intensify training for its bakers and service teams, tighten quality controls and sharpen service protocols to enhance customer experience.
“Malaysia is a key pillar of Paris Baguette's Southeast Asia growth strategy. By combining global expertise with local insights and continued investment in the business, the brand is well-positioned to strengthen its presence and build long-term value in the market,” it said.
Following recent halal certifications in Singapore and Indonesia, Paris Baguette has made halal compliance a top strategic priority for Malaysia.
"In Malaysia, advancing certification is a non-negotiable commitment rooted in consumer trust, reinforced by the Johor Halal Food Hub's certified supply chain. This positions the brand for sustainable expansion while upholding the quality and craftsmanship it is known for," the company said.
For customers, Paris Baguette said the new structure will bring more innovative products and an enhanced bakery café experience while maintaining the freshness and hospitality the brand is known for.
“The brand will continue developing offerings that combine its global expertise with local tastes and preferences, and Paris Baguette remains committed to earning its place in the lives of more Malaysians for years to come,” Paris Baguette said.
