Greenyield unit reports fire incident at Papua New Guinea factory


KUALA LUMPUR:  Greenyield Bhd has reported a fire incident at a section of a factory belonging to Galley Reach Holdings Ltd (GRH), a 65%-owned subsidiary of the group in Papua New Guinea, on June 28, 2026.

It said in a stock exchange announcement there were no casualties or injuries arising from the incident.

The group added that operations at the affected factory have been temporarily suspended pending investigations by the relevant authorities. 

The factory's assets are adequately covered by insurance under an Industrial Special Risks Insurance Policy with a total limit of liability of PGK7.77mil (RM7.22mil).

The group said it is currently assessing the extent of the damage and the financial and operational impact of the incident.

 

Based on its preliminary assessment, it does not expect the incident to have a material impact on its overall financial position or operations.
