Malton signs MOU with NVIDIA cloud partner Ricloud for AI compute centre development

KUALA LUMPUR: Malton Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US-based AI cloud infrastructure provider Ricloud AI Inc to explore the development of artificial intelligence (AI) compute centres in Malaysia and jointly promote AI-related services across the region.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the property developer said the proposed collaboration will leverage Ricloud's status as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) and its expertise in AI infrastructure to attract global technology companies to establish AI compute centres in Malaysia before expanding into other Southeast Asian markets.

Under the proposed collaboration, Ricloud will be responsible for securing investors, providing technical expertise, supplying AI servers and NVIDIA GPU clusters, as well as participating in project financing where required.

Malton, meanwhile, will assist investors in identifying suitable locations for the AI Compute Centre, obtaining regulatory approvals and permits, and act as the main contractor for the construction, testing and commissioning of the AI compute centres and related infrastructure.

The company said the collaboration will be carried out on a best-efforts basis, with specific terms to be negotiated and formalised through definitive agreements once potential investors are identified.

Ricloud is an AI cloud infrastructure provider serving AI companies, hyperscalers and government entities. As an official NCP, it is certified in NVIDIA Enterprise Software, Networking and Compute, and has access to advanced NVIDIA technologies, including GPU-accelerated clusters and AI enterprise software.

“The MOU enables Ricloud and Malton to formalise their respective roles and intentions in relation to the proposed collaboration before proceeding further with the exchange of information and securing of potential Investors,” Malton said.

Malton said the project presents an opportunity for the group to capitalise on growing demand for cloud services, AI-related computing and data centre infrastructure.

The MOU will remain in effect for 12 months from the date of signing, unless terminated earlier or superseded by a definitive agreement between the parties.
