Abd Rahman resigns as Theta Edge chairman


PETALING JAYA: Theta Edge Bhd has announced in a Bursa Malaysia filing that its chairman, Tan Sri Abd Rahman Mamat, has resigned to pursue other commitments.

Abd Rahman, 74, was appointed chairman on July 9, 2024, succeeding Tengku Datuk Seri Hasmuddin Tengku Othman.

According to the company’s annual report, Abd Rahman has over 35 years of experience in public service, primarily within the International Trade and Industry Ministry, where he served from 1975 until his retirement in 2010.

He held senior roles, such as deputy trade commissioner in New York, director of trade in Taipei, and economic and trade commissioner in Bangkok.

His later appointments included director of industries, senior director of policy and industry (services division), and deputy secretary general (industry).
