D&O recovery hinges on automotive sector rebound

PETALING JAYA: The challenging automotive market is expected to continue weighing on the performance of D&O Green Technologies Bhd this year, as analysts warn that weak demand from Europe and China, alongside ongoing inventory impairments, could keep earnings under pressure in the near-term.

MBSB Research maintained its “sell” call on the light-emitting diode (LED) manufacturer with an unchanged target price of 39 sen, citing persistent weakness in the automotive sector and limited visibility for a meaningful earnings recovery.

It said demand for automotive LEDs from D&O’s customers in Europe and China is likely to remain subdued amid softer vehicle sales and cautious inventory management across the supply chain.

“While the group is placing more reliance on its newer products to gain pricing advantage, we view that it would be insufficient to boost the revenue,” MBSB Research added.
