KUALA LUMPUR: Destini Bhd
's 70%-owned subsidiary M Rail Technics Sdn Bhd has received a RM45.58mil contract from Malaysia's rail assets manager to undertake Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for 13 Class 61 Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) train sets.
The contract will run for 24 months from Sept 1, 2026, to Aug 31, 2028.
RAILTEC, a joint venture between Destini and KTMB, is Malaysia’s sole Level 4 rail MRO provider. Having previously secured Level 3 and Level 4 MRO contracts, the award from Railway Assets Corp (RAC) completes RAILTEC’s full-spectrum Level 1 to Level 4 rail MRO capability.
According to Destini, RAILTEC now possesses end-to-end capabilities across all four levels of the MRO value chain, establishing itself as Malaysia's most comprehensive and capable home-grown rail maintenance and engineering solutions provider.
"By securing Level 1 and Level 2 capabilities to
complement our established Level 3 and Level 4 expertise, we are now the only rail MRO provider in Malaysia capable of supporting an operator’s fleet throughout its entire lifecycle, from routine daily depot servicing to deep-tier heavy overhauls.
