Inari Amertron reports fire incident at Philippines plant

KUALA LUMPUR: Inari Amertron Bhd has reported a fire that broke out at the manufacturing facility of Amertron Incorporated in Philippines (AIP), its wholly-owned subsidiary in the Philippines, on May 10, 2026.

The fire, which affected part of the CK1 manufacturing plant in Clark Philippines, broke out at about 2.30pm, and was contained by fire rescue authorities by 3.40pm.

Based on preliminary findings, the fire is believed to have been caused be a wiring short circuit in the ceiling area of the affected facility.

It did not result in any fatalities or injuries.

According to Inari, about 12,500 sq ft of the plant was affected by the fire, representing 10% of the total 125,000 sq ft manufacturing space at CK1.

"Operations at the affected facility have been suspended pending safety inspections and clean-up works.

"Operations in the non-affected areas of CK1 are temporarily suspended due to power shutdown mandated by the Fire and Rescue Authority Department and are expected to resume upon approval and installation of dedicated power lines," said the group in a stock exchange filing.

Pending completion of the assessment, the group said the loss from the fire is not expected to exceed US$5mil.

AIP's other plant, CK2, which has a manufacturing space of 83,000 square feet, was not affected and continues to operate as usual.

AIP is currently evaluating alternative production arrangements to minimise disruption to customer deliveries.
