KWAP appoints Datuk Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah as new CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) has appointed Datuk Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah as its new CEO, effective May 20, 2026.

In a statement, the retirement fund said Jay Khairil brings almost 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, with extensive expertise across financial management, governance, internal audit, risk management, and institutional transformation.

Prior to joining KWAP, Jay Khairil served as chief executive of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), where he led the bank’s transformation across financial performance, digital banking, operational resilience, and financial inclusion, while delivering its developmental mandate to serve communities across Malaysia.

He also served as chief financial officer and chief internal auditor of BSN, and held senior roles at CIMB Group, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (Malaysia), and Bank Negara, with earlier experience at Hong Leong Bank and AmMerchant Bank.

According to KWAP, Jay Khairil will lead the organisation’s strategic direction, operations and institutional priorities, while advancing KWAP’s mandate as Malaysia’s public sector pension fund through disciplined investment, sound governance and long-term institutional stewardship.

KWAP also noted its appreciation to Datuk Hajah Nik Amlizan Mohamed, who served as CEO from 2020, for her leadership, service, and contributions to the organisation’s continued success during her tenure.
