DNeX unit bags services, infrastructure contracts for Saudi Makkah route initiative

KUALA LUMPUR: Dagang Nexchange Bhd’s (DNeX) wholly owned subsidiary Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd has secured site facilitation, logistics and telecommunications infrastructure service contracts to continue supporting Saudi Arabia’s Makkah Route initiative for this year’s hajj season.

In a statement today, DNeX said the contracts cover operations across seven international airports in Malaysia, Indonesia and Türkiye, marking an expansion from the previous year with the addition of a new site in Indonesia.

"DNeX has been involved in the Makkah Route programme since 2019.

"The initiative, led by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior under the Pilgrim Experience Programme, enables pilgrims to complete immigration pre-clearance in their home countries, improving arrival efficiency and overall pilgrim experience,” it added.

Group chief executive officer Faizal Sham Abu Mansor said the retention and expansion of DNeX’s role reflects strong long-term partnerships and recurring revenue potential.

"Our continued appointment across multiple international sites, together with the addition of a new location this year, underscores the trust placed in DNeX to deliver mission-critical infrastructure at scale,” he said.

DNeX said for the 2026 hajj season, DNeX’s scope covers key aviation gateways including KLIA Terminal 1 (Malaysia), Soekarno-Hatta, Juanda, Adi Soemarmo and Sultan Hasanuddin airports (Indonesia), as well as Istanbul Airport and Ankara Esenboğa Airport (Türkiye).

It continues to collaborate closely with Elm Company, a Saudi government-owned entity under the Public Investment Fund and a leading digital solutions provider supporting the kingdom’s digital transformation initiatives.

Beyond the Makkah Route programme, DNeX is actively exploring broader commercial opportunities with Elm Company in areas such as transportation and security, with the aim of exporting its government technology and infrastructure expertise to new international markets, said the company.

"With seven global sites out of 16 secured this year, compared to six in the previous hajj season, DNeX remains optimistic about further expansion in future cycles, supporting the group’s strategy to grow its recurring international project base and enhance long-term shareholder value,” it said. - Benrama
