MATRADE, DNeX ink MOC to advance digital trade facilitation for Malaysian businesses

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to strengthen trade facilitation and accelerate the adoption of digital trade solutions among Malaysian businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In a joint statement today, MATRADE said the collaboration aims to empower the MADANI Digital Trade Platform (MDTP) as a key national digital export hub, providing digital trade solutions and trade facilitation services to the exporter community.

"The collaboration will make digital trade facilitation more accessible to SMEs by bringing key export and customs processes together within a single digital platform.

"By integrating customs declaration services into MDTP, the collaboration will provide SMEs and exporters with more accessible and seamless digital trade facilitation through a single platform,” it said.

DNeX, as the trade facilitation partner, will provide access to its digital trade platform, DNeX TradeHub, together with the technical support and expertise required to integrate the platform with MDTP.

"DNeX will also enable SMEs and exporters to onboard and utilise the platform, and will work closely with MATRADE to support the implementation and adoption of digital trade solutions among participating businesses,” the statement added.

MATRADE chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Abu Bakar Yusof and DNeX IT CEO Shiraz Ramli formalised the MoC today, witnessed by MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and DNeX chairman Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir. - Bernama
