SunCon bags RM1.75bil hyperscale data centre job in Bandar Serendah

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SCSB), has received a construction job valued at RM1.75bil for a hyperscale data centre in Bandar Serendah, Selangor.

It said in a stock exchange filing the project includes the core and shell structures, campus infrastructure, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing

(MEP) fit-out.

The project is scheduled to commence in 3Q2026, and will be completed in 3Q2028.

SunCon said the project is subject to the normal construction risk of material price fluctuations. However, with SCSB's past experience and expertise in construction projects, these risks could be mitigated.

"The project is not expected to have any immediate material effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of SunCon for the financial year ending 2026.

"However, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the project is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of SunCon Group for the financial year ending 2026 onwards."
