PT Resources hit by China fire incident


PETALING JAYA: PT Resources Holdings Bhd has incurred losses amounting to RM17.81mil from a fire incident at a coconut processing facility of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Fujian HJS International Holdings Co Ltd, in Fuqing City, Fujian Province, China.

The incident occurred in September 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, PT Resources said Fujian HJS is awaiting confirmation from the relevant authorities on the investigation to further assess the extent of the damage before proceeding with any claim in respect of the losses incurred.

The loss incurred was following preliminary assessments, said PT Resources.

“The board wishes to highlight that the financial impact arising from the fire incident has been adequately provided for, and is not expected to have any further material impact on the group’s financial performance going forward.”
