Zecon appoints Morshidi as chairman

PETALING JAYA: Zecon Bhd has announced the appointment of Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani as its new chairman.

In a statement, the engineering and construction solutions provider said Mohamad Morshidi brings over 40 years of leadership experience to Zecon.

“He notably served as the State Secretary of Sarawak from 2009 to 2019. His extensive background includes senior roles within the Chief Minister’s department, management executive positions at PETRONAS, and a tenure as the director of Kuching North City Hall.

Zecon said that Mohamad Morshidi holds several prominent chairmanships and directorships, including chairman of the Development Bank of Sarawak, chairman of the Sarawak Digital Economy Corp Bhd, chairman of the Centre For Technology Excellence Sarawak and chairman of the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore.

He is also a director of Sarawak Energy Sdn Bhd and the Sarawak Multimedia Authority.

Separately, the company also announced the appointment of Brandon Goh Mun Han as its chief operating officer.

“He began his career in 1995 as an assistant auditor with Ernst & Young and progressed to senior auditor, auditing companies across diverse sectors.

“In 2001, he joined Dawla Capital Sdn Bhd, where he monitored and managed a portfolio of quoted shares.”
