Salcon wins RM80mil water infrastructure contract


PETALING JAYA: Salcon Bhd has secured a new water infrastructure contract worth RM80.399mil, following the acceptance of a letter of acceptance issued by Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd.

In a statement, the water and wastewater engineering and construction firm said the project involves the design, supply, installation and testing of a main treated water pipeline from the proposed site of new 114 MLD (megalitres per day) Sungai Kerian Water Treatment Plant to the proposed site of Batu Kawan Reservoir, with the provision for future connection to Jawi Reservoir in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang.

Salcon said the project is scheduled to be carried out within a period of 36 months, with site possession commencing on April 6, 2026 and scheduled completion by April 5, 2029.

“It is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets of Salcon Group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2026, onwards.”
