Robot factory ‘On’ in S. Korea


On Holding AG has opened a factory in South Korea using robots to churn out high-end running shoes as the Swiss brand seeks to shake up footwear manufacturing.

The facility near the city of Busan, with 32 fully automated robots producing the upper part of sneakers, will increase On’s robotic production capacity 30-fold. Currently, the company has four robots at its headquarters in Zurich using its LightSpray technology.
