Boost Bank partners Great Eastern to launch protection plans with savings feature


KUALA LUMPUR: Boost Bank has partnered with Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) to roll out a range of protection plans bundled with a savings feature.

The collaboration introduces three entry-level protection plans targeted at everyday risks, including travel, commuting and personal accidents. The plans are priced from as low as RM15.

Under the offering, TravelProtect provides coverage of up to RM250,000 for travel-related incidents, while CoreProtect PA offers personal accident coverage of up to RM50,000 for accidental death and permanent disablement at an annual premium starting from RM25.

CommuteProtect, also priced from RM25 per year, provides personal accident coverage of up to RM25,000 while commuting.

In a statement, Boost Bank said the plans are available for purchase through the ‘Protect’ section of the its mobile application.

Customers who sign up for any of the protection plans will also gain access to a savings feature known as the Protect Jar. The feature offers 3.3% per annum daily compounding interest and is positioned as a way for customers to build savings alongside maintaining insurance coverage.

In addition, customers who deposit funds into the Protect Jar will be eligible for a limited-time complimentary travel protection plan, TravelProtect Lite PA, which covers personal accidents and selected travel-related inconveniences such as flight delays. The complimentary plan can be activated via the ‘Rewards’ section of the application.
