PETALING JAYA: Pentas Flora, Malaysia’s leading re-refined base oil (RRBO) producer and scheduled waste management specialist, has announced its expansion into the Japanese market.

In a statement, the company said the move solidifies its position as a key international player in the circular economy, providing high-quality, sustainable RRBO to one of the world’s most sophisticated industrial sectors.

“The expansion was recently highlighted by the successful ‘RRBO New Product Presentation’ hosted by Moty’s Tribo Japan Co, Ltd, a premier Japanese lubricant and performance oil specialist, on Feb 13, 2026.

“The event marked the formal introduction of Pentas Flora’s RRBO technology to Japanese industry leaders, showcasing a new era of high-performance lubricants that do not compromise on environmental responsibility.”

Pentas Flora said Japan is globally recognised for its stringent quality standards and commitment to “Monozukuri” (the art of manufacturing).

“By introducing its Group II+ and Group III RRBO, Pentas Flora is meeting the growing demand for sustainable raw materials that match the performance of virgin base oils.”

Pentas Flora Group managing director Lim Aik Fu said the expansion is “more than a business growth milestone.

“It represents a ‘cradle-to-cradle’ philosophy. By converting used motor oil into high-grade base oil, Pentas Flora is helping Japanese partners reduce their Scope 3 emissions and transition towards a truly circular industrial mode.”

Tribo Japan’s chairman Hidekazu Maruyama said RRBO will now be fully expanded into the Japanese market.

“We will continue to work hard to deliver the value of our products and the thoughts shared today regarding the future of sustainable lubrication.”
