Emico Holdings announces fire at its Penang plant

PETALING JAYA: Emico Holdings Bhd has announced that a fire has occurred at one of its two manufacturing plants in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the trophy and award products manufacturer said the incident affected certain parts of the production floor.

“Operations at Emico Penang Plant 2 have been temporarily halted pending the completion of investigations by the relevant authorities and the restoration of the power supply.

“The management is taking the necessary measures to mitigate production disruption, including rearranging production to other plants, expediting the appointment of contractors to restore the production facility, and rescheduling shipments where necessary,” it said.

Emico added that its other manufacturing plant and production facilities of the group are not affected and continue to operate as normal.
