Maybank appoints Rohaya Mohammad Yusof as director

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has appointed Rohaya Mohammad Yusof as an independent non-executive director with effect from Feb 1, 2026.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the bank said Rohaya, 60, has extensive experience in capital markets and investment management, having most recently served as chief investment officer at the Employees Provident Fund from 2020 to 2025.

She previously held several senior roles at the EPF, including head of private markets, head of capital markets and head of corporate finance.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia and is an associate member of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia.

Rohaya currently sits on the boards of Tenaga Nasional Bhd and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.

In a separate filing, Maybank said it had fully redeemed its RM1.7bil subordinated sukuk Murabahah on its first call date on Jan 30, 2026.

The RM1.7bil subordinated sukuk Murabahah was issued on Jan 31, 2019.
