PETALING JAYA: Binastra Corp Bhd
has secured a contract from PTT Synexis Sdn Bhd for the proposed development of an industrial warehouse facility in Klang, Selangor, worth RM303.8mil.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the contract covers the piling, main buildings and associated with external works in respect of a proposed development of an industrial warehouse.
It said these include a single-storey warehouse with a mezzanine floor and a three-storey office; two double-storey mechanical and electrical buildings; two guard houses; two refuse chambers; an electrical substation; a five-storey car park building and a temporary container yard depot area.
“The contract is expected to provide an additional income stream for the group for the financial year ending Jan 31, 2027 to 2028.
“The contract will have no effect on the issued share capital of the company but it is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets per share of the group for the financial year ending Jan 31, 2027 to 2028,” it said.
Managing director Datuk Ir. Jackson Tan Kak Seng said the contract marked a milestone for the group as it ventured into industrial infrastructure through its first automated warehouse project for PTT.
He said the project would broaden Binastra's capabilities beyond its core construction business and strengthen its presence in specialised industrial infrastructure.
Tan noted that growing demand from the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), manufacturing and retail sectors, coupled with the need for greater supply chain efficiency, was driving demand for modern, technology-enabled warehousing facilities.
“We believe the entry into this segment will provide a platform for Binastra to build new expertise, strengthen its competitive positioning and pursue a wider range of construction opportunities, while supporting long-term growth ambitions.”
