Dayang unit inks RM118mil vessel deal


Dayang said the acquisition forms part of its strategy to strengthen its marine fleet and enhance its operational capabilities.

PETALING JAYA: Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, DESB Marine Services Sdn Bhd (DMSSB), has entered into a marine vessel construction and purchase contract valued at RM117.7mil.

The agreement was signed yesterday with Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn Bhd (SYSSB).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Dayang said SYSSB will a 91m maintenance/work vessel, with a targeted delivery window between Jan and Jan 10, 2028.

Dayang and DMSSB will not assume any liabilities or guarantees arising from the acquisition, which will be funded through a combination of internally generated funds and/or bank borrowings.

Dayang said the acquisition forms part of its strategy to strengthen its marine fleet and enhance its operational capabilities in supporting offshore maintenance, hook-up and commissioning works.

“Upon completion and deployment, the vessel is expected to contribute positively to the group’s future revenue and earnings and support the group’s ongoing offshore operations,” it added.
