OCK inks MOA for development of Cyberjaya optical fibre infrastructure

KUALA LUMPUR: OCK Group Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary has entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Selangor's state-owned digital infrastructure firm Smartsel Sdn Bhd for the implementation of the Cyberjaya Fiberisation Project.

The state initiative aims to develop 41.1km of high-capacity underground optical fibre infrastructure in Cyberjaya.

This will form the foundation of the Selangor Dark Fiber Network - a state-owned, open-access, neutral and scalable optical fibre network  -

"This initiative aims to provide a strong digital infrastructure foundation to support future digital economic growth, including data centre development, data-intensive industries, high-value investments, and technology-driven public service delivery," said a joint statement issued by OCK and Smartsel.

In addition to the MOA, OCK has inked a business alliance framework (BAF)with Smartsel to formalise the shared intent of the parties to establish a long-term strategic partnership in support of the Digital Selangor agenda.

The BAF will facilitate the exploration and implementation of joint initiative across five key areas, including infrastructure development and regulatory validation, in-building 5G coverage, network operations and managed services, digital platforms and solutions and renewable and green energy integration.
