Scientex Packaging registers net profit jump to RM9.27mil in 1Q

KUALA LUMPUR: Scientex Packaging (Ayer Keroh) Bhd posted a higher net profit of RM9.27mil in the first financial quarter ended Oct 3,1, 2025, compared to RM2.9mil in the year-ago quarter, backed by improved operational efficiency and a more favourable sales mix.

Additionally, the group had registered foreign exchange losses in the comparative quarter, which were absent from the current quarter.

The group posted earnings per share (EPS) of 2.64 sen, over three times the EPS of 0.83 sen in the comparative quarter.

Quarterly revenue was up 3% to RM184.66mil as compared to RM179.29mil the same quarter in 2024.

According to the group in its results filing with Bursa Malaysia, the market environment remains challenging due to the stiff market competition, inflationary pressures and other external factors.

"The Group remains committed to prudent cost management and sustaining its competitive edge through key operational improvements, such as maximising machine efficiency, minimising waste, and enhancing workforce productivity.

"It continues to leverage its technical expertise and innovation capabilities to deliver customer-centric packaging solutions, while working closely with customers in achieving their sustainability objectives."
