Bintai Kinden wins RM45mil TNB job


PETALING JAYA: Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd (BKCB) has accepted a letter of award from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for the maintenance of a transmission main intake (PMU) in Bukit Tengah, Penang, worth RM44.65mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering services firm said the contract is for a project known as "asset replacement & refurbishment for primary and secondary combined equipment and new 1X240MVA autotransformer at PMU 275 / 132KV.”

“The contract is to be completed within 730 days from the commencement date.

“The contract will contribute positively to the earnings of the BKCB Group over the duration of the contract.”

BKCB said the award represents the group’s first contract from TNB following its successful upliftment from PN17 status.

“With this latest contract win, BKCB’s outstanding order book has strengthened to RM199mil, providing robust earnings visibility over the near term.

“The group’s momentum remains aggressive, with RM2.08bil worth of active bids currently under evaluation, underscoring a healthy pipeline of opportunities across the M&E and construction sectors.
